President

Lauren Holmes has been immersed in the construction and contracting industry since 2006, with a professional background deeply rooted in service, education, and community advancement. Her early career focused on helping others through systems of care and advocacy, and she has carried that same commitment into the built environment—where safe, high-quality housing and responsible development play a critical role in shaping stronger communities.

What began as a mission to elevate residential construction through sustainability and design excellence led Lauren to launch Blockhouse Residential. Her vision was to bridge the gap between attainable housing and high-performance construction—giving clients access to modular homes that were not only better built, but thoughtfully executed.

As Lauren gained traction in the residential space, her insight and ambition sparked something larger: a scalable platform that could bring the benefits of modular to all segments of the market. From that vision, AZA Builders was born, and with it the development of four specialized divisions: Blockhouse Residential, EcoCraft Homes, Native Modular, and United Systems Built (USB)—AZA’s commercial modular arm.

Today, Lauren leads AZA Builders as a premiere woman-owned modular construction firm on the East Coast. Her leadership is focused on innovation, operational transparency, and solving the inefficiencies that have long plagued the industry. With USB, Lauren is helping to shape a future where modular is not just a solution for housing—but a proven path forward for schools, retail, hospitality, and civic development.

Andrew Holmes

Chief Construction Officer

Andrew Holmes brings over two decades of comprehensive experience to his role as Chief Construction Officer of United Systems Built (USB), the commercial division of AZA Builders. With a career rooted in both residential and commercial construction, Andrew’s expertise lies in navigating the operational complexities of high-value, multi-unit, and mixed-use modular developments.

Beginning in 2005 with heavy highway inspection, Andrew developed a foundational discipline in contract compliance and construction oversight. That early role demanded precision, risk management, and deep attention to cost accountability—skills that would define his approach to larger-scale project execution. Over the years, he advanced through estimating and project management roles at prominent contracting firms before launching and growing his own construction ventures.

As the strategic lead of USB, Andrew plays a pivotal role in translating modular methodology into scalable, high-performing commercial solutions. His experience in coordinating licensed trades, managing third-party compliance, and forecasting around environmental and scheduling variables is critical to USB’s success.

What sets Andrew apart is his foresight. He has the unique ability to see 15 steps ahead, anticipating the shifting dynamics of labor, permitting, supply chains, and stakeholder coordination. Under his leadership, United Systems Built is not only delivering projects faster and smarter—it’s elevating the standard for modular commercial construction on the East Coast. Andrew is focused on building strong partnerships with developers, municipalities, and institutions to unlock the full potential of modular for schools, housing, hospitality, and beyond.
